Terms of Use

Welcome to ArtLedger.ai ("ArtLedger", "we", "us"). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the ArtLedger website, the ArtLedger.ai assistant, the Art City Map (ACM) data layer, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

ArtLedger provides an AI assistant and data terminal for the art market. It surfaces estimates, auction results, exhibitions, fairs, museum information, public art, and trip-planning content. ArtLedger is an information tool. It is not an auction house, dealer, gallery, advisor, broker, custodian, or insurer of art, and nothing in the Service constitutes a solicitation to buy or sell any work of art or financial instrument.

2. AI estimates and accuracy

Prices, valuations, attributions, dates, hammer figures, exhibition schedules, and itinerary recommendations are generated by AI models drawing on public sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Always verify before buying, selling, insuring, lending, exporting, or relying on any work for a financial or legal decision. ArtLedger does not authenticate, appraise, or guarantee any work, lot, or price.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Pro subscription

Optional paid tiers ("Pro") unlock advanced features such as deeper market analytics, longer history, priority response, watchlists, and exports. Pro is billed via our payment processor on a recurring basis until you cancel. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.

5. Acceptable use

No reverse engineering, scraping at scale, or unauthorized resale of the Service.
No use of the Service to launder funds, evade sanctions, traffic stolen or looted cultural property, or violate cultural-heritage export laws (including EU, Portugal, UNESCO 1970, and applicable national rules).
No uploads of CSAM, malware, or content infringing third-party rights.
No use of outputs as the sole basis for buying, selling, or insuring art.

6. User content

You retain ownership of photos and text you upload. You grant ArtLedger a worldwide, royalty-free license to process them solely to provide and improve the Service. You represent that you have the right to upload anything you submit.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, ACM map data, branding, software, and curated content are owned by ArtLedger or its licensors. Artist names, work titles, and auction-house names are referenced for editorial and informational purposes only.

8. Third-party data and links

ArtLedger surfaces information from third-party sources (Artnet, Artprice, MutualArt, museum websites, fairs, galleries, image providers). We do not control and do not endorse those sources, and their terms apply to your use of their content.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArtLedger will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or losses from buy/sell decisions based on the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim or (b) EUR 50.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page; that erases your stored profile data and signs you out.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, except where local consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable right to a different forum.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
